Question check oil light

I have a 92 3.0 shorty and lately when I take the car for a short drive (less than 5 miles) and turn it off then start it again the check oil light comes on and stays on for the next trip. I checked the oil and it's still full.. no leaks on the driveway etc. But after the trip with the light on.. it will stay off until the next short trip.. any ideas why it's doing this?? is it common?

are you parking on a hill? this will uncover the sensor, and it will not go off untill restarted with the sensor covered.

My 91 was similar. When ever it got a little low that would happen. I just added a little and it was good to go.

Oddly enough my 96 RWD Aero doesn't have this sensor if I'm not mistaken it's screwed into the side of the pan when I removed mine it wasn't there.Maybe they removed it in the laster models for that reason?
