I have been very satisfied with my 2004 4x2 SCREW Lariat. I haven't done any towing with it, but do seem to have lots of power. This truck rides like a Lincoln!

I've had mine for just over a year now. Nice truck, smooth and quiet pulls my 5th wheel trailer no problems at all. They had a few common problems with the 2004 trucks but mine was all covered under warranty with no problems at the dealer at all.

Love my STX reg cab, but I'm sure you are gonna get a deluxe model.
I notice you have a Supercab, now.
I'm not that thrilled with the f-150 Supercabs that I have checked out. Too long, not a true five passenger. The Supercrew is not only the most practical, if you use it as a car a lot of the time, it's the best looking in the new style. If you can live with that short bed.
If I had any way to justify it, I would drive a Supercrew.

Everyone with a Supercab will now flame me, but please understand, it's just my opinon.

I like my 04 Lariat SCab 4x4 6.5 bed.If you are going to haul people around alot in the back seat, a SCrew might be better. If not, I would recommend the SCab with 6.5 bed.NICE! Good Luck!

I infinitely prefer the lines and functionality of the SCAB over the Screw. I've had that bed filled to the guills a number of times so I'd have already exceeded the capacity of the Screw. I'm 5'10", weightlifter, and fit back there comfortably-check out the specs-plenty of hip room etc. I would get the Screw however if I was in that family man position where I wasn't really going to use the truck bed that much and would regularly have passengers in an out five times a day etc.

99FordF350,

First, why do you want to trade ? Do you towing a lot ? explain to me why you want to trade?
Fill in all reason why you want to trade...just want to help you to think about it as why...like postive and negitive.

If your doing a lot of towing, stay with F350.

F150 is great for daily driver, once a while towing.

Chris - SCABS w/ the 40/20/20 front seats seat 6 passengers. I wouldn't want to have 6 adults in there, but 4 adults, 2 children can ride in the SCAB cab relatively comfortably for short trips.

I have an XLT regular cab short bed and love it. It's great if you don't need to carry over 3 people as there is room for luggage, groceries, etc. behind the seat with the 2 extra doors an dyou have the 6.5 or 8' bed. If you need to carry people, you need the Screw. Even though many people have them, I don't see a great need for the Scab.

I just wanted to put my two cents in on the raging regcab vs scab vs screw debate playing out here. IMO, the front doors of both the regcab and the screw are too short and place the center piller almost even with, and sometimes forward the drivers head. The same door is used for both of these models and one has to lean forward a little for a full view to the side. Also, with the seat all the way back for a tall person the piiler mounted seatbelt can ride forward the driver. The longer scab doors allow a much more open view to the side and therefore a more open feel to the entire cabin. The 6.5' box, the longer doors, and the roomy cabin - especially without the space robbing console - make the scab the best of all three configurations. I carry luggage in my back seat area more often than passengers, but there is plenty of room in back for most resonable people. If I had children I would probably feel differently towards the merits of the screw (now there's a sentance), but I prefer the scab. Plus, it just looks great - IMO.

I love my reg cab, but we have carried three people in the 40-20-40 seat twice. Both times the third person was on the small side. My wife is tall and slender. I am built for comfort, not speed...Ok so I wear Extra Large.

Still and all, Three adult people in the front seat is something you CAN do, but not something you WANT to do. Unless all three are on the thin side. Say you and a couple of supermodels.. Never mind...it's late.

I don't want to get another regcab vs scab vs screw debate going. Ford makes all three to give us choices.

But, in past threads people may have compared pre 2004 scabs with screw rear seat size. The 2004 scab is about 6 inches longer than it's predecessors. Yesterday a 2002 scab parked next to me and let his rear seat passengers out. I had the rear doors open to load groceries, and all they did was stare at my back seat. It really was an impressive difference. If you want to compare rear seat room, make sure you use a 2004 model scab.

Yeah, my 2005 scab has more leg room and more of a seat back angle than my 2000 scab did. . .
