Is anybody familiar with the old Mahwah assy plant, specifically where exactly it is located, like what road? I know it closed in 1980, but I'm doing some research and wanted to drive by it if it is still standing, take a pic etc.

If i'm not mistaken take rt.17 north and just before you cross the nj/ny border look to your right you'll see the Sharp headquarters that is where the assy plant was.
The building was torn down in the 80's and Sharp built several new buildings, a parking lot for their employees and guests, and there is nothing left whatsoever to indicate it was a Ford assembly plant at one time. It's completely gone.
However, you can go to the site by taking route 17 North to the very end of the state, and just as you past the *****-shaped Sheriden Hotel, you'll see a small green sign on the right that says "Sharp North America Headquarters". Get off there and follow the entry road to the front of the buildings, and you're there.
sorry i did not work long enough and since i quit for a better second job 0 bens. even the old edgewater plant site you can never tell was any more. condos now. i drive past the site 2 times a day going to and from work its a shame fords gone. i think the last car year was 80 out of there . fredric tells what it looks like now.
I own a 58 Edsel that was built there. Not many Edsels are left that were made from this plant because they rusted away . Most of the Edsels you see were from the south or west
Came across site by accident . started at the ford mawah plant after high school in 9/1968 until closing in 9/1981. what an experience this was. unreal. I WAS CONSIDER A SECOND GENERATION FORD EMPLOYEE HAD RELATIVES WHO WORKED AT EDGEWATER PLANT , AND MAWAH . after the closing moved out to the wild west. JOHNJ
