Bad gas

This may not be the most appropriate forum to post this but may have the most knowledgable people on the topic.
I recently bought a '75 F350 that had been sitting for a number of years. Who's to say how long the gas has been in in the tanks. I added some treatment, methyl hydrate and stabilizer, to the tank along with some fresh gas before I tried to fire it but I fear it may be too far gone. Is there another additive or solution I can add to the tank that will allow me to get it going?
I understand the best method is to drain the tank, and I will try to syphon out as much bad gas as I can first, but I can't really see how to drain it without taking it out.
Any suggestions you could provide would be great, cuz like I said this is probably the most knowledgable forum.....

get as much out as you can, then add fresh fuel and for the most part it should be fine. Big concern will be if it rusted the inside of the tank or not. I have seen some get so bad that the brass float was all eaten away. You can run it short term with rust in the tank, but you will be plugging the filter fairly quickly. Easy way to see it is to drain some fuel after it is run a little, and if it appears kinda orange, you have rust bad.

Thanks. I think I'll put in a second fuel filter to catch any excess material. I'll also see if I can syphon it down and top it up with fresh gas as well. I was hoping there was some magic elixer that would renew it.
Have a good one,
