Is propane safe in the older 6.9 with turbo

Dad has an 86 6.9 wuth a banks turbo. Is it safe to put the propane kits on these older units? Banks guys told dad 10-12 lbs. is max on these old 6.9's any more will cause major damage. He's got an F 350 crew dually. ny help would be great.

Have the head gaskets been done over, propane can be used in moderation if you use a good adjustable kit.

I believe there was a rebuild of some kind before he purchased. I will try to find out.

There is no way to know but he thinks no rebuild done. Milage is 170,000.
