From the looks on the outside, a CD player from an 04-05 apears that it would fit in my 03. Will they? I have just the plain single CD player in my 03 and wanted to upgrade to the factory 6 disc in dash cd changer that will play MP3s from the 04-05 trucks.

I wen't through this ordeal on my old 94. As it turned out, adding a CD player required the rig to have premium sound. By this, there was a seperate amp added. The CD player was just a headset. Without that amp, the new CD player would not have worked.

So I guess your question now will involve finding out if you have such an amp. As best as I can figure, my 04 which has the CD/Cass deck has no external amp, thus adding the factory 6 disc CD player would be more hassle than it's worth.
