Which is louder

I have a 93 f150 wi th the 2 cats on my exhaust, and it isnt quite loud enough. I was thinking about just cutting the second cat off but then i was wondering if it would be better to just take both off and put a high flow cat on instead. Which one would be louder the high flow cat or cutting of the second original cat.
Thanks for your help

not sure what engine ur running, but on my 302 i had a catback flowmaster 40 installed and it wasnt quite loud enough. i then cut off both cats and installed 1 high flow catco and the sound now is just where i want it. it has a nice deep idle and on takeoff it just roars. my family and friends say they can hear me coming from a few blocks away so i musta did something right. hope this helps

On my F150 the second cat was gone when I got it, but I swapped out the muffler for a FM 40 si/do on it. It's not too quiet, but not overly loud either. You can hear it coming from a few blocks away. It could be a little louder for my taste, but it's not bad. I just wish it had a little more crackle.

Forgot to mention, I only have the first cat, and no muffler. Has a 'burbly' sound I just love .

It needs to be welded since the pipe going to the cat is 3"....unless your straight pipes are 3". (probably not).

just curious but if you cut off the second cat or take off both originals and replace it with a single highflow would the truck still pass emissions ?

Because i have a 96 150 with single to dual catback exhaust, and it sounds ok but i would like it to be louder.

Particle-wise, yes, it will pass.

It will fail a visual inspection quicker than a Honda in a tractor pull. It came from the factory with 2, there had better be 2 there when the emissions guys checks it.

They still will want two underneath there. Freakin green-team.

No cat's..just a pair of glasspacks to do my singing. I just bought a CD player and honestly..I don't know why. I just love hearing my truck. Course...gas prices....*whine*

They still want 2 even though the one Hi-Flow cat passes?? That is so weak, man....

Guess you can gut one and put the Hi-Flow on there...lol
