help!!i have a 81 f150 w a 351m and a 4speed manual .I have a friend w a mid 70's 4x4 also 351m but he has a c6 tranny my question is can we put my 4speed on his truck because his is bad will work in reverse only and what other parts we would need please respond thanks joe

 

is your clutch mechanical rod, or hydrolic?

either way you'll need them, you'll need to change steering colums, change pedal assembly to 3 pedals remove floor matting open the hole for a standard tranny get a raised floor housing for the hole in the floor, and you may also have to change trans cases, and axels

it is not that hard of a job if you've got all parts at hand, but it is fairly time consuming

thats the fastest and easiest way to do it
it took me a weekend to change my 79 f100 from auto to standard
