manual 5 speed v-6 4.2l drain&fill plugs

i am wanting to change my transmission fluid on my 97 5 speed 4.2l manual transmission what and where are the plugs and if on top how to fill thanks sam

Sam,
The drain and fill plugs are on the driver's side of the transmission. I believe they are both labeled (cast into the housing).
Remove the fill plug first, then the drain plug.

Mercon ATF is the OEM recommended fill.

you may also want to move your pan that you are draining the fluid into a little off to the left of the transmission before you remove the bottem plug, if you dont do that you will end up getting a mercon bath. the fluid has a tendency to shoot out cause the top plug will be removed.
