Part number help, please, anyone?

This is going to sound stupid, but here it is. A dealership broke my 'fuse panel' door. The one you pull open with a finger, detach and then can get at the fuses.
They have the old part, (OK, they lost it already). They are 130 miles from here, and for reasons known only to the Lord and Ford, they can't figure it's part number out... I am not kidding.

I am asking any user to go to their 2004 F-150, and pull the gray trim door off the fuse box, and please look for any part number on that door.

It is NOT 4L3Z-1502344-AAB. That is the part number from the corner piece that the door fastens into.

Thanks, anyone who wastes a minute doing this.
Chris

Mine is tan (not gray!) on a SuperCrew, but the part number on my fuse panel door is 4L34-15020C62-AEW (Mold # 3586).

I searched on www.GenuineFordParts.com and www.PARTS.com, but came up empty. You might try emailing TORRIE at FORDPARTSNETWORK.COM. He may be able to help.

Thank you GordoPanocho, I can use that number.
There is one letter there that relates to the color, so any parts guy can substitute the gray for the brown.

This is not for me to order the part, it's so the parts guy can be sure that it's the right number, not the piece next to it. It seems the dealership has a problem with their book...understanding the parts location.

Well, actually it's their computer program, but you know what I mean.

Thanks again,
Chris

Chris, I assume that you mean the "outer"door, not the inner one(one that actually covers fuses) . Anyway, mine is BLACK and has the EXACT same number and Gordo's: 4L34-15020C62-AEW Mold 3586

Additional numbers below that were: CAV 2>PP< RH
and below that: PLASTECK C1868
Hope this helps. I can see how they could have broken it(especially if it was cold) as it takes a good tug.

Thanks Blue Blooded, The door is black on yours?Black interior trim? Didn't know they came that way. Cool though. Part number is the same? Interesting.

The day they broke it, it was 80 degrees, and they were not working in the fuse box. I think the guy kicked it or something. I got a block away and it fell over, it had been taped in place...

They are truly confused. They insist 1. there is no such part, I must mean the black fuse box door. 2. They already sent it, or they didn't. Both from same guy.

They are not trying to claim they didn't break it, they are not trying to deny the claim. Their parts department keeps getting the part number for other parts. I really think it's just confusion and some incompetence, not 'enemy action'.
I would just drive there, hang the cost, but they don't have the part in stock. and their dealership has a policy of not taking parts off other trucks. I'm not sure I believe that one, but what the heck.
Thanks to everyone who contributed.
I think I have everything I need to get them off the dime, now.
Thanks again, everyone
Chris

Couldn't they just look at one on the lot, or better yet give you one off a new truck and order one for it????

No kidding. What incompetence. They should have a manual w/diagram showing every part number down to the last bolt. What kind of service is that anyway? Putting a piece of tape on it and sending you on your way without saying a word about it??!?!?

I guess they don't realize the effect that their actions have on the reputation of Ford, the company, or it's sales.

There are reasons unique to Southern California. In theory anyway. I actually understand why they do what they do, and I understand why the guy who broke my truck 'fake' repaired it. But I don't have to go there anymore.

Chris,
I have the grey interior trim/fuse door. The number is 4L34-15020C62-AEW, name: CVR ASY-CWL SD FS ACC. Good luck on getting your new door...and a new dealer.

Um, 'it's in the mail'. Gee, 8 weeks, not to long to replace a simple part they broke, is it?
Chris

Of course, that's on the assumption that it does come soon, and is the right, non broken part.
