Hard starting 302 efi F250
Been having lots of problems with starting. You have to crank it over several tries before it will start.
This morning, it was about 60 degrees out side, and I cranked and cranked, it just wouldnt start. I got a spare plug and pulled a wire and wedged it inbetween the intake and a hose. Nice white spark while cranking.
I shot the intake hoses with starting fluid, and she started then died. I did this a few times, each time turning the key on I heard the fuel pump run a few seconds and stop.
Then she started and stayed running.
What controlls the fuel input during starting?
It seems it wont open the injecters and then all of a sudden they open.
What do any of you people think it is?
Thanks
Bob

Do you hear the fuel pump kick on when you turn the key on? Just turn the key on, don't start it and listen for the fuel pump. If you don't hear it, but after several tries you do hear it, in all likely hood the Fuel pump relay could be shot.
The fuel pump relay should be on the drivers side under the hood, and should be under a small black plastic cover (about 1.5" wide x 3" long), one relay will be for the computer, and the other will be for the fuel pump. I can't remember which is which, but I think the fuel pump relay is the brown one.
