hershelisa is starting off with a positive reputation.
2.9 change to a 3.0

hey i was wondering if a 3.0 motor will bolt up to a 2.9 transmission.
found a good motor but dont want to buy it if it wont bolt up.

No, it will not bolt up, the bellhousings are different.

Aren't the 4.0 and 2.9 related somehow? I'd think that would be an easier (and more fruitful, powerwise) swap.

The OHV 4.0L will bolt up. The only issue (if it is one) would be the strength of the tranny with the increased power.
