Well I checked out the oilguard websight and did find the filter for $11. but what is the difference between the $11 OilGuard EPS-2016 and the other $21 Racor PF-L2016 filter?

Timgonz98. The only difference is the packaging. That's what has been said elsewhere on this site by people in the know.

Guydriver are you talking about the motorcraft vs the olguard?

I ment there are 2 different oil filters that are sold on the oilguard website, the oilguard and the Racor. The racor is more expensive than the oilguard. What is the difference between the two?

The Racor is the EXACT filter as the Motorcraft down to the patent numbers

Ditto. Question answered. Oilguard and Racor are one in the same.

Wink

Oh, I see. So the Racor filter has the same patent number as motorcraft acording to beemr, and acording to guydriver Oilguard and Racor are one in the same. So this means that all three filters are the same (Oilguard, Racor and Motorcraft) , no difference. Sorry guys if I am a little slow, I work long hours and sometimes it gets to me. And also I am a new disel owner. So just one more question, why is Oilguard selling the Racor and the Oilguard filter on the same website for different prices (Racor being mor expensive) if they are the same?

How much are they now tiny? I saw them at our WW for $17+ dollars. On Oilguard.com they are $11.

All the Wallys' that I've been in in the last several days have an abundant supply of both diesel filters. This is in No. Dallas County (TX) and surrounding area.

I verified the numbers at Wallys against my Ford maintenence servce record.
MotorCraft # is FL-2016. Ford Filter # is 3C3Z-6731-AB.
Only difference in numbers is the last two letters at the dealers is AA as opposed to AB on the FoMoCo filter at Wallys.

Filter price is around $20 at Wallys. Shell Rotella is about $6.50 per gallon. That makes an oil change at Wallys about $50 with tax. My dealer charges me $60 and I don't have to worry about some minimum wage Yaa-Hoo stripping the threads on my pan, or screwing something else up myself.

Yeah, I know, I'm getting lazy in my senior years.
But the good part about it, I can well afford the $10 extra. + I don't have to worry about getting rid of the used oil.
Say What !

Hey Dog they have them for 17.83, but I bought 3 for 33.00 & 1 fuel filter kit(2) for 39.00 from filter1. I bought because they give discounts based on yearly purchases & we are going to get all our other vehicle filters to get our total up higher. If I can find the breakdown I'll IM it to you.

Stopped at Wally World in Buffalo NY to get a filter and manager says they will not have any more. Selling out rest of Motocraft filters. He had a listing for a Fram in his book but none in stock and unaware when he would be getting any. Will have to order a couple from FTE sponsor. My dealer in Canada wants $44 Canadian for a filter ($37 US).
