How bad is the interior drone of the FM40?
#2
I had a si/do in front of the rear wheels, and it was significant. It's all subjective though, what I call loud, you may like. I went to a magnaflow si/do,and went all the way out the back. Mellow is the best way to describe it. The fm may not be too bad though if you go all the way out the back.

I have the FM40 original flow on my truck. It is a si/do straight out the back with 3.5" wide chrome tips. The interior resonance is definitely noticeable, you can hear it at all rpm ranges. But like stated before one person's opinion of loud is different than anothers. Just keep in mind that with my setup it is audible at all rpm ranges.

I put the 40 series on my 2005. SI/DO straight out the back with chrome tips. It IS noticeable, almost too much so for me. Cruising down the interstate at 75 it is not too bad. Accelerating is a different story all together.
If I knew then what I know now, I would have chosen something quieter. I believe the 50 series is quieter.
My 2000 has a Mello Tone SI/DO and it is really much quieter but still offers more "truck" sound that the factory exhaust.
MT $.02: If you are at all worried about the 40 series being too loud, it probably will be.

Muffler + 4 cats...there is no way it can be loud. I got the 4 cats then nothin else, and I'm still not considering that loud. I guess we're all different though, I'm from Indiana and most people just straight pipe their trucks. You wanna hear loud, straight pipe a 5.4L, dodge 360, etc.. That is loud to me.
ANYWAYS, Brian you got any pictures yet??
