I have an '03 rc ranger with the sliding rear window/privacy glass. The truck now has 18,600 miles on it, and since new the sliding rear window has always rattled. It's been getting worse, so I asked the dealer to check it out. Was told "they all do that, you should hear them on the f150's." Anyone else have this issue on a ranger?

well, I don't believe they all do that. you check with another dealer, just call them. if they are put in right, they should rattle at all. I have a back window from a 94 in my 2k, it doesnt rattle at all.

The rear sliding window on my '98 has never rattled.

The best way to respond to the "they all do that" line is to tell them you want to drive some other Rangers on the lot and listen to them.

 

The rear slider on my '02 is silent... except when there's snow and ice stuck between the cab and the toolbox!

 

Both of mine don't make any noise, do what rock said.

 

Guys, thanks for the tips and the suggestions. I'll follow up with the dealer and see where I get.

 

Guys, just an update. Went to the dealer today and took a drive with the service advisor in my truck. He agreed that the window is really rattling and has ordered a replacement. Too bad it took two trips, but thanks for the advice from all that replied.
