Low beams out?
#2
First off...welcome!
I know you must have a V10 equipped truck becuase you posted this in the v10 forum.
I'm gonna move it to the Super Duty forum as this forum is for things related directly with the V10 engine.
We'll need some more info from you.
When do they go out?
Do the highs still work?
When did this start happening?
What year is your truck?
Have you made any changes to try and fix it?
Have you made any modifications in that lighting or electrical area that may have created the problem?
And probably the most important question...
If a block weighs 8 kilograms plus half a block, what is the weight of a block and a half?
Welcome again!

Hey Mcmax,
I just had a similar problem on my 2001 F250 SD. My Hi beams work, my fog lights work, so do my parking lights, I just don't have Low beams. Did you ever figure out the fix?
This must have just happened since I was driving home last night with both my fogs on and my headlights on (or so I thought). I pulled up behind another truck and noticed in the reflection that only the fog lights were on. I have been runnign SilverStars, so I am not sure if it is the filament's in both, or the switch. I already checked the fuses and all the ones under the dash are ok.
HELP!!!!!!

standard hd/lht lamp encasement shake.... new bulb/ non ford 1 ALL IS A OK.... been known for a while... tighten down the lamp mounts.. and the aim adjuster screws) this is known from the assembly plant... to the dealer....) another fine ford inovation.... if.. after a few months/years??? of use.. the if u blow bulbs on a regular bases.. pull the head light cluster, and slip in some 1/4 inch padded foam between the facia and the actual mount to reduce the shock.. vibration. (ford`s own fix)..

there is also a small problem with 150k or so units where the high/low wires where switched at the wiring facility (harness pre production..vendor!!!!!! ) .. and the feed wires/hot were reversed. the problem is now only showing up with 4-7 year old vehicles where the head lamp/(always on state), module can not keep the voltage demand for this condition. tsb and warranty to follow.. 1999-2006 e 350- ?? and f 250- ??? model years yeas!!!!!!! after market ..... day glows, night hawks... silver stars, and goldeneyes etc... do void this tsb, and warranty.

Thanks for playing. I have no idea about your light. I hate electrical gremlins. Although after a year I would hope it got fixed.

with todays bulbs it is very possible to have both burn out at the same time or for a driver not to realize one was out till the other goes out. esp. when so many of us also have our fogs on at the same time to watch out for what could become a road kill costing us thousands of dollars to repair.
as to both at one time it's happened to me and i will say dahh! i never realized the one was out till the other let loose and all i had was highs or parking lamps and my fog lamps.

I've got the same problem with the low beam headlamp relay circuit.

All of my bulbs are good, harnesses good, fuses good, relays seem good, next I gotta pull the fuse boxes and check the relay connections. Heard the engine compartment one goes bad. The plate lights, running lights, cargo lamp, and low beams are all one long circuit.
