Starter Problems
hi all i have a 97 f250 4.6 and i have a problem
i turn the key and it just clicks ive replaced the Starter Relay Solenoid
and a new battery ive checked all of the fuses but i dont have a diagram that tells me what fuses do what
ok now my thought is that the starter died so how do i remove it i cant get one of the bolts off because their is no room for a wrench
any ideas on how to get the starter off?
also can someone email me a fuse diagram for my truck
Thanks

I had to change my starter last summer, it also made the "click" noise as you described. It did look imposible to me also, but with a little guideance from my dad he was able to demonstrate how it was very possible. Along with the approprate size socket and socket wrench you need the right amount of extention(s) 8''-12'' worth ( not to long where the wrench is to long to fit behind the engine but long enough to snake its way the the difficult bolt).
I hope you have a warm area to do it, nothing worse than trying to accomplish the task with cold and numb fingers outside and under a dirty truck.

this is my second late model ford and both have had problems with the starter wire corroding and falling off the colenoid
I thought it was a big problem till i looked under there and i heard this is a bad factory design where the salt and dirt from the road eats away the connector
It's worth a look
