My truck rides fine, I'm happy with this setup. What are you planning to do?, run larger rims with low profile tires. You can go with a bigger and a wider rim but keep in mind to get the correct backspacing for your rig otherwise the tires will rub on turns. Yes the bolt pattern size is 5.5 inches.

I wanted to go to 32's on my '88, but I'd heard they rubbed on certain situations. I also found few choices for tires and high prices.
I went to 16x8 rims and 265/75/16 tires (32x10.50) I got the 32's but a little narrower so there is no rubbing. Many more choices for tires in this size.
Discount Tire says you can run 285/75/16 (33x11.50). I think I'd want a leveling kit before running those.

I am not sure what I want to do. It seems that the truck would look better with larger tires. I do not want to go too large but just to get a better look. What would you suggest? The rims I have now (15") are great looking rims. What would the advantage be to go to 16". Milage / performance

The only reason I went to 16's is the number of tires available. I was going with new rims and tires so I could start fresh. If I had good 15 inch rims, I would have stayed with 15' and gotten 32x11.50's.
I was concerned about the future availability of tires in that size so I went with 16's.
