1996 F150 - Rims and Tires?

I have 235/75/R15's now I would like to go to a larger tire.

1)Is it correct that I can go to 31 X 10 1/2 with the same rim?

2) If I want to go to a larger rim what rims will fit on my present bolt pattern?

Thank you for your help. Dennis

I have 32x11.50x15 on my stock rims. I think these tires are big enough for the trucks stock ride height.

How does the truck perform? Would it be better to go with a larger rim if Possible without changing the bolt pattern? Am I correct in stating that the bolt pattern is 5.5?

My truck rides fine, I'm happy with this setup. What are you planning to do?, run larger rims with low profile tires. You can go with a bigger and a wider rim but keep in mind to get the correct backspacing for your rig otherwise the tires will rub on turns. Yes the bolt pattern size is 5.5 inches.

I wanted to go to 32's on my '88, but I'd heard they rubbed on certain situations. I also found few choices for tires and high prices.

I went to 16x8 rims and 265/75/16 tires (32x10.50) I got the 32's but a little narrower so there is no rubbing. Many more choices for tires in this size.

Discount Tire says you can run 285/75/16 (33x11.50). I think I'd want a leveling kit before running those.

Wheels will likely cost ya at least $100 apiece, and you may need to search for a while to get the one with right backspacing.

That's bull. You cannot without lift, or some serious rubbing. Their plus sizing sizes are erroneous for those 90 - 96 Ford trucks.

I am not sure what I want to do. It seems that the truck would look better with larger tires. I do not want to go too large but just to get a better look. What would you suggest? The rims I have now (15") are great looking rims. What would the advantage be to go to 16". Milage / performance

The only reason I went to 16's is the number of tires available. I was going with new rims and tires so I could start fresh. If I had good 15 inch rims, I would have stayed with 15' and gotten 32x11.50's.

I was concerned about the future availability of tires in that size so I went with 16's.
