Condolences to the Canadian Mounties

I just heard this morning on the radio about four mounties killed in a raid on a pot farm in Alberta. They said this was the worst killing of police in Canada in 120 years. My condolences go out to our brothers in arms (and their families) north of the border.

Wow...
sad, sad, sad....
be it know I just took a moment for prayer for the families and their comrades...

And there was a conference of churches here this week to discuss church facilites security with the rash of thefts at churches...

used to be some respect in this world for law enforcement and churches... don't I recall that ?

The story can be found here:

Very unusual. Apparently all four officers and the suspect were found dead in a farm outbuilding.

Condolences to all family members.

Somehow - I just don't buy the idea that there was only one suspect involved.
Mounties (even Junior Mounties) are not your average shooter...

There must be more to this.

They are withholding critical info about this right now.

I wouldn't doubt this has something to do with the Hell's Angels.

Unhappy

My dad and brother are RCMP members in Manitoba. I have not talked to them yet but when you hear of stuff like this happening it worries me. If it can happen in small town Alberta, it can easily happen in small town Manitoba. Gotta feel for the families affected.......

It did happen in Manitoba a couple of years ago when RCMP const.Dennis Stronguill was shot and killed in the small town of Russell. Also at Virden back in the 80's with one killed and one female officer badly wounded. It's a dangerous job and they deserve our respect.

I don't mean to sound ignorant but aren't Canadian police unarmed similar to British police?

Our deepest sympathies for the Brave Men and the family's that were left behind. This is a hard lesson that can happen anywhere which leads me to have the utmost respect for them all. Our prayers will be with them and with the men and women who are still manning that front line between right and wrong.

Innisfail (where I live) is the National home of the K-9 Training facility.

I knew that 1 possibly 2 officers from here were headed up to Mayerthorpe for this.

Being a Member of C.O.P.S. (Citizens on Patrol Service) I am talking with these men & women all the time.

The best info about what happened is *Here is the news update from their own web site.*
