A Tire and Wheel Question!

What would you do??
I resently purchased Cooper 265x70x17's for my 04 150, 4x2,w/daystar 2.5 front lift, They look weak! Do I get some rims that would offset them a little: 17x9, or 17x8, or do I go for 305/70/17's tires??????

I would go at least 33" (285/70R17) on original wheels. U could go 305/70R17 style with the Daystar even on original wheel. Some have even gone on 315's on original wheel (4x4). I am going to put 35" on my original wheels for starters.
Wheel wise, I would recommend to keep as close to the original offset as possible. Centerline has some nice wheels with 5-6" Backspace specially made for the 04+ F-150 and Expy's called Crossfire.
Hope it helps...

Found the Tire/Wheels size for 04's and up

I have a 04' FX4 Super Crew. After months of jumping around to tire stores on foot and web, I finely was hooked up by Discount Tire. in Ann Arbor Michigan, {by Kevin/manager}. We spent an hour going over everything that was out there, {wheels/Tires}, on a national computer inventory. I am getting the 'NEW' Goodyear Wrangler MT/R LT305/70R-17/D12. Very BEEFY' and RUGGED' rated @ 4000 lbs load. (measures: 34" tall with a 12" wide treadprint)-{aprx: $222/tire} on a 17X8 6-135 positive 25mm offset, [***POSITIVE 25MM IS THE MINIMUM OFFSET THAT IS REQUIRED UP TO 40MM (max) ON 04's AND UP F-150'S***], on a 17" MB Motoring-Rocker wheel 01-7836. {aprx: $125/wheel + tax}. Putting a DAYSTAR 2 1/2 in. leveling kit on it. Hope this HELPS ALL!!!!

Rule of thumb: The BIGGER the BETTER! HeHe!

As of next Wednesday March 9th I will have the following setup:

6" ProComp Performance Suspension Lift Kit w/ES9000 Shocks
3" Performance Accessories Body Lift
2.5 Daystar Leveling Kit (Will probably be removed with Suspension lift)
325/65R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers
18x9 Eagle Series 178

I will probably drive with that setup until I sell the tires or they wear out.

Then: I am going with the 37x13.50R18 Nitto Mud Grapplers!
(There goes the smooth ride LOL!)

I have measured and then measured twice, a 305/70/17 will fit, I measured the wheel well and then a 305/70/17 tire, of course I am unsure about turning though!, my biggest question was " what do you think will look better???" for now! until I can complete the package!

fitting

you may have to trim about 1" off the corners of the bottom bumper cover for turning.
