Help with height

I'm trying to determine how tall a 6inch suspension lift w/35 inch wheels would be on a 4X2, from the ground to the very top of the hood of the truck. I just dont know if it will fit in the garage, and I'm trying to determine the overall height gain once the lift is on. If anyone has comments or picks picks of a 4X2 with a 6inch suspension lift please email.

what to do if no response

why post a question if you cant get any answers? How many ford truck owners are members of this site? Are there any other ford sites around?

I can't give you a hands-on answer, but I can help you estimate it. What is the height of your truck right now?

Current height = h
Current tire dia. = d
New tire dia. = t
Amount of lift (in.) = l

New height = h + [0.5 * (t-d)] + l

According to Ford's website, the stock height for a 4x2 is about 74", and the stock tire size on mine is 265/60R18 (30.52" dia.) so:

74" + [0.5 * (35" - 30.5")] + 6" = 82.25" or 6'-10 1/4".

In short, the change in tire size will add about 2.25", plus the 6" lift = 8.25"

Hope this helps.

What's your max. height clearance in the garage? The calculations are still just theory. The 6" lift may actually make the truck stand 7" taller, and the tires may be a larger diameter depending on the rim they are mounted on. If you only have 4-6 inches, I would be very cautious about it. Maybe do the lift first and see how it shakes out, then the larger dia. tires.

I have a standard eight foot garage door, but the garage door is an aluminum roll up. When i measured, that was eight feet from the garage door to the garage floor, but it looks like i still have room for the garage door to open a liilte farther, maybe 2 inches.
