Carpet/Seat Swap

I'm sure it has been asked before, but has anyone had any experience with putting in a carpet from an 87-91, as well as the seat? The truck I have found is an auto, so the carpet has no holes, so I would just have to make the cut outs for the trannt/t-case. Any comments? My truck is a 1978 4x4 4spd reg cab

I have heard of swapping the seat, but not the carpet. I guess you could do it if the floorpans are the same size/shape of very close. I would just go head and get carpet made specifically for a 73-79 if they were different.

it's the same mold from 73-97. the part number in my catolog is the same thing for all the years. only difference may be a lil bit of triming off the edges.

Interesting, I can get the seat and the carpet for $100 canadian. Sounds like a good deal, as they are both in really good shape. Just wanted to make sure before I go buy them

the back windows in the trucks from 67-96 all work together and can be interchanged. there's a lot of things that are old school technology on these trucks.

Was just about to do a search on this myself but since someone brought it up.... So is the seat a direct swap-in or (my F150 is a 1979)would I use the '79 seat brackets? My seat is pretty trashed on the driver's side.

The seats will not bolt right in, you have to take the mounting brackets off your old seat and take the brackets off the new seat, then you can bolt the old brackets on the new seat ( and the hole line up ), now it will bolt in just fine. I put two newer seat in my 78 crewcab and it made the truck look 100% better on the inside and also make a better place to sit.

I just put a carpet from a 1991 F-150 2wd into my 1978 F-150 4wd. There are a couple of loose spots, but it fits pretty well. You need to trim it around the seat belts/cab corner area. I just cut the hole for the shifter, and added a 4x4 shifter surround from a 1995 Dodge truck. Looks factory. Also installed a bench seat from a 1994 F-150. As stated before, you have to swap seat tracks, but it is a super easy job.

To many to mention.
