how to disable seat belt alarm?
Anyone know an easy way to disable the seat belt alarm on an '05 F350? I always wear my seat belt while driving, but on the job site, or when backing up to a trailer this constant ding ding ding is driving me nuts!!! I can push the seat belt release button on my '02 to turn it off, but it doesn't work on the '05.

If I ever get it back from the dealer from the vibration problems I'll look in the owners manual. At least maybe I can fix that myself.
They have had it at the dealership for 9 days now. So far the turbo pedastal has been replaced and some sort of anti-vibration ***** have been put on the exhaust. Still vibrating.
Now they are going to replace the harmonic balancer and a pulley...

I just unpluged the wire under the seat on my 05. On mine the plug was under the seat right next to the seat belt connector, you can't miss it. I also cut the wire that makes the chime when the door is open. I can't remember what color it was, but if you take off the plastic piece arount the steering coloum, it is the only wire running to the switch.

With my 02' I had the dealer program them out of the computer. I now can have the door open with the keys in the switch and no ding. I can drive with out my seatbelt and no ding. I can leave my head lights on with no ding. ECT....
I told the dealer that I did not want any bells or chimes, and that is what I got. Although I do have one now that I am back to work. I don't remember which one it is but it does not drive nuts so I guess it can stay. Da'Moose

Well I found it in my manual and it’s a bit different than (what I assume is for an earlier model) what’s listed in the FAQ’s. You basically turn the key forward and wait for the seat belt light to go off. Once it FINALLY goes off, plug and unplug the seat belt 9 times – I had to do it slowly – ending with it unplugged. Within 10 seconds the light should come back on, on the dash and you’ll plug and unplug the seat belt one last time – again ending with it unplugged. The seat belt light will flash a few times on and I guess that’s it.<O</O
