V10 tachometer

Has anyone found a tachometer for a V10 and how did you mount it in a late model Econoline?

here is the answer to your question which was mine at one time.

Joe,

Thank you for your email and interest in Auto Meter Products.
Unfortunately, we do not offer a standard tachometer for any V10.
However, we do offer a recalibration service through our Service
Department to have any Auto Meter (not Auto Gauge)tachometer
recalibrated for your V10.

We offer this service for $25.00. Turn around time is usually seven to
ten days, and your Auto Meter tachometer will retain its full warranty.

The way to take advantage of this service is to purchase any Auto Meter
tachometer from your favorite speed shop, online source, or mail order
house and send it to:

Auto Meter Products
Attention Service Department
413 West Elm Street
Sycamore, IL 60178

Include a brief note with your contact information and the year, make,
and model of your V10. Please call our Service Department prior to
shipping your tachometer to arrange a suitable payment arrangement.

Here are a list of pods/pillars that will fit on you 99 Van:

15315: dual pod
15316: single pod
17315: dual full pillar
2697: 5,000 RPM 2-1/16 Tach
2698: 8,000 RPM 2-1/16" Tach

Again, thank you for your interest in Auto Meter Products, and best of
luck to you in your project!

Sincerely,
Ryan Davenport

question: I need a A pillar pod (single or double), I see you have them
available for a 99 ford E350 van. But I also need a V10 tachometer to
fit one of your pod options and am un-able to use your search feature
successfully. Is one available?

RCLARKE- What year model is your van? Obviosley it's not an 04 or up. as these have a tach in the instrument cluster.
I too, have been researching a tach for my 03 E-350 V-10. My PCM has all dedicated (not muliplexed) signals to the instruments, and has a tach signal wire output that is not used. I'm told Autometer tachs can use this. (I believe it"s 4 pulses per rev, can anybody confirm this?) Anyway, if you have an 03, I don't think you'll find an instrument cluster with a tach that will work. However, if you have a 99 thru 02, you may be in luck. There is a firm in Portland OR that offers a "tach dash" option with there 4X4 conversions. www.quadvan.com I'm told they use an F150 instrument cluster with "some" modifications. They might could help you out.
In my case, it seems that all the IC's that would "bolt-up" or fit, will not work with my PCM. And the 04/05's that have the tach are WAY different than mine.
Hope this helps some, and keep me posted on what you find, as I'm still looking and learning. -Rob-

I've been thinking about getting a tach on my '97 E-350 V10. I've been wondering about just swapping in an instrument cluster from an Expedition or F-150 and only hooking up the functions the van has, but it sounds like that wouldn't work, correct?
