I want to make my ranger faster

Ive got a 1989 Ranger. Inline 4. I made my own
CAI(cold air intake). Next is the exhuast. What else is out there to make my little 2wd ranger faster. I see there are
UDP(Under drive pulleys) out there. Just wanted to see whats out there.

one-word.... Turbo! steal a turbo setup from a Thunderbird/cougar and you should fry some tires... make sure you pair it with an intercooler..

isnt there a way I can buy a stock intake manifold and a stoch TB and port and polish the intake and open the TB more.

Swap in a 289/302..........that is a good way to gain power...........

I had an 83 ranger with a 2.3 in it and I put a mustang/ranger factory header on it. They came on mid-late 90's rangers. you should be able to find one at your local junk yard. With the header down to a 45 degree bend through a cherry bomb and out the side before the tire, it felt like it added 15hp and sounded pretty burly too.

Go with the 2.3L Turbo Swap from a t-bird, I'd go w/ like an 88 or so. I've got an '83 in mine and its great, though I don't have much else done to it besides a blow off valve. But they're cool and not too comon.
