Slow to go into overdrive

I have noticed that after my truck has been parked all day it takes it a while to go into overdrive. It will be in drive for a few minutes and then will go into OD. After that it shifts fine. Was wondering what everyone thought. Has a 5.4 motor.

This is normal. It stays in drive to help the transmission warm up. once transmission is warm it will shift fine. The colder it is outside, the longer it takes to shift into overdrive.
