Acceleration Hesitation 4.2L

I have a hesitation problem, like many others that have posted here have, but have yet to fix it. 2000 4.2L

It passed Autozone's diagnostic, but I am planning on taking it to the dealer on Wed.

I get the hesitation mainly when accelerating through shifts, at low rpm. Before a couple days ago, it only did it when the engine was cold, and not once warmed up, now it does. And yet, sometimes it runs fine after waming up.

I have changed the fuel filter, cleaned MAF, checked TPS, EGR, EGR regulator, DPFE, CKP, and had injectors/fuel system/fuel rail cleaned. Replaced plugs/wires 4 months ago. Replaced air filter today.
I checked resistance on COPs, 14.5 ohms between pairs and 1.0 ohms on the 4-pin plug.

What blows my mind is that I don't get any codes, at least from independent shops. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Good luck, I am having the same problem. Pretty much like you desribed it. I took mine to the dealer last week and had them do a WDS scan. Notta. According to the scan, everything is doing what it is supposed to. I'm not getting any CEL either. No codes showed up on the dealers scan.

BTW, my coil pack resistances were the same as yours when I checked mine. According to the specs in my Haynes manual, the coil pack is bad...I thought I found it, at last. Not! I checked a new one at a dealer parts counter and it metered the same as mine. That should have shown up during it's visit to the dealer.

Good luck at the dealer. Maybe they'll find something simple. And then you could post it here and I'll check mine out.

One mechanic told me that is definitely a misfire, probably a coil. That couldn't be since I checked the resistances.

Another said it was the transmission, the clutch is hooking up quickly and thats causing the hesitation. That couldn't be it either b/c I can dump the clutch without slippage.

Just took it to an independent shop. Replace plugs and wires, runs great. I had put Champions on it, gotta stay with MotorCraft.
