Helicoilinsert? or new head,I was told helicoils are junk but heads are to expensive. how hard could it be to do a helicoil right.

it can be a hard job to fix them and the heads are expensive

Helicoils

I have done lots of helicoils on old outboard motors with good results, mainly for spark plugs. My biggest concern is getting them straight. Where are you located? Send me an email.
