i am new and noticed tonight that someone was wondering about ex-cab subwoofers. i have been trying to decide on a set for my 2001 supercrew. mtx makes an under seat one that the greatest db rating with a good sub max's out at 85 or 86 db at 1 watt. the volume at 100 db at one watt is outrageously more than 85 or 80 db. my last full size grew cab i had a bazooka tube with a 100+ db level. does any one know if someone makes one to fit how big of a bazooka you can fit without cutting? i looked at supercrew sounds' ad but haven't called them yet.

 

I purchased a Mtx Thunderform under seat sub box and I really like it alot. It's good enough for me, but not strong enough to be that annoying kid at the stoplight (unless I really crank it). I paid roughly $150 for it off of ebay, and that included the sub.

I saw the price of the Thunderform and went into sticker shock, so I built a box similar to it and put the same MTX 10" sub into it. It fits under the seat, but you do not have to remove the seat to install it, and if you want to fold down the seat, you can remove the sub box pretty easily. The good news is, it cost me the price of the speaker and I had the plywood hanging around anyway. So the whole job only cost me around $50.00.
