'01 Upper Radiator Hose / Serpentine Belt

My upper coolant hose passes through my serpentine belt on my '01. I'd like to carry a spare belt for emergencies, but I don't see myself pulling off a hot radiator hose on the side of the road.

I understand the later years had a different shape hose that doesn't need to be removed in order to replace the belt. Anyone know if the later style hose will fit my '01? Much thanks for any help!!

Me I LIKE the hose through the belt. I keep a good MotoCraft through the belt hose on and a good belt. I use the space that would be taken up by an around the belt hose for a coolant filter. If you keep your belts and pulleys in good shape you are not likely to ever have to do a roadside change. If you do, having a container to catch your coolant in is the big thing, or just have more coolant. Drain out about 2-3 gallons from the radiator, pull the upper hose off, put a new one on, fill it back up your done. Did it, regular maintenance, the other day in about 20 minutes engine cold. However if you decide that you do want the around the belt type upper hose they sell them at NAPA, about 10 bucks with tax.

The NAPA part # is 9066 for the hose. It is for a dual alternator setup.
