Missfire during accelerations solved!!!!!

Just wanted to drop a note and let everyone know I found the problem that caused a slight mis during acceration. Found a guy at work who had the same thing on a 94. Ends up the Front coil that fires the intake side plugs was going bad. What happend was the areas where the metal are exposed in the corners allows rust to propigate into the coil and splits the case. Once moisture gets inside the coil, it starts to intermittantly short out. Under acceleration, the intake plugs are leading and the exhaust side plugs are laging. If the intake plug does not fire, then the exhaust side plug picks up and fires the cylinder, but it does so late and with less power. This the slight feeling of a mis.

I have noticed increased power, especially at low rpm. I dont know the extent of it, but it seems to be getting about 3mpg better mileage.

Thanks for all the suggestions
Dave
