can a person take a tranny from a mustang or thunderbird and swap it into a truck, would this setup be fairly reliable for strength? or what other vehicle can i get the tranny out of? for the people who have swaped or know exactly, what all has to be done with a 1983 F-150 4X4 to do the swap? Thanks!

 

Why don't you look for a 4x4 truck that has a 5 speed. It will already be set-up for the transfer case. I don't know if the 5 speed car tranny can be modified to fit the transfer case or not.
