4.0l

I have a '85 Bronco 2, 2.8L, Mazda 5sp w/ od, 4x4. Will a 4.0L go straight into the hole or will I need to modify things a bit?

Should be a pretty easy swap but I don't know all the details. Make sure you get all the electonics for the 4.0.

4.0 will fit in place of the 2.9 quite easily. Not sure about the 2.8, but I half expect the 2.9 will fit in place of the 2.8 pretty easily, so the 4.0 may as well. Like Ken said, you'll need all the electronics for the 4.0. You'll also need a fuel delivery system. The mechanical fuel pump in a carbed engine only generates a couple psi fuel pressure, EFI needs ~40 psi.
