Been doing some research and came accross the following information:
What are your thoughts on the following...What do you think? Over the top?
Transfercase oil: I believe it takes between 2-3qts ATF, every 12000-20000 miles. I have heard that this is one area that gets neglected.
Power Steering Fluid: Refreshed every oil change by sucking out of resovior and refresh with Power steering fluid. Preventative maintanence due to some problems with the pump in some trucks. I have heard that Dextron 3 has been known to eat the seals?
Front Diff: Replace with 75-140 syn if you 4x4 a lot.
So what do you think? I want your opinions

Well...like I said..just wanted to share and get opinions. I haven't done it yet. I am in the process of getting a Mag Hytec Rear Diff Cover and am waiting to see how long it will take for the front cover (still under development) to become available (hope it clears my stabillizer). At that time I may or may not switch to 75-140 syn up front...depending on what responses I get here. The only question I have is that the (Amsoil) 75-140 syn has friction modifiers in it and did not know how that would affect the front if any. On the surface it seems to make sense. The Transfer case also seems to make sense...I was told ATF, but wonder if there is specific variables (like our engine oil) that is required in the fluid. Power Steering...makes sense also, but not sure of the switch to regular Power Steering Fluid. Anyone just use regular power steering fluid in an 04 yet?

"If you are doing a lot of four wheeling, I would recommend replacing the
transfercase fluid at 30,000-60,000 miles.* If you are not four wheeling, you
should replace as needed or at 100,000 miles.* Use synthetic 80W-90 in the
front axle.* If you have a 97 or older truck with the mechanical auto hubs use
synthetic 75W-90.* If you have a 6.0, use Mercon/Dextron III for the power
steering.* If you have a 7.3 use type F ATF.* Replace as needed."
FYI

So what are we going to call this in theTech Folder
...and like John says we need more data

I'd just add it to the current tech folder, if your interested in something like this. Maybe a link for fluid recommendations and recommended intervals.
Transfer case:
- Mercon/Dextron III, or a synthetic ATF with the same specs (list specs).
- If you are If you are doing a lot of four wheeling, Recommend replacing the
transfercase fluid at 30,000-60,000 miles.*
- If you are not four wheeling, you should replace as needed or at 100,000 miles.*
- Conderation for turning larger tires? (insert as appropriate)
Front Axle:
- synthetic 80W-90 in the front axle.
- If you have a 97 or older truck with the mechanical auto hubs use synthetic 75W-90.
Rear Axle:
-Limited Slip...75-140 synthetic with Friction Modifier. If it doesn't have friction modifier add 4oz as a suppliment. (specify)
- Insert fluid recommendation for non-limited slip.
- Insert Recommended break-in procedure for those who regear:
Power Steering:
- If you have a 6.0, use Mercon/Dextron III for the power
steering.* (specify interval and how to)
-If you have a 7.3 use type F ATF.* Replace as needed (specify interval).
This is off the top of my head as far as stuff I would like to know. As I learn and get time I will be putting together specs for what I will do to my truck and share with all of you if your interested.
I thought I would post here and get input from others who may have more knowledge and experience. Information is always welcome.

I for one would be interested in those write-ups. I really like the one you did on the transmission flush. With power steering, F/R diff, and transfer case maintanence procedures I'll never have to go to the dealer again.
I have something to add, but it’s not a fluid change. I know there are instructions on how to clean the EGR, but there is no recommendation on how often. I myself now do it every other oil change.

Type up the instructions put some pictures in it as a link and I will put it in the Tech folder.
