99 F350 Starting Problems
I finally bought a 99 F350 4x4 regular cab with the Powerstroke and 6-speed manual tranny. This thing does not want to start when it is below 60 outside! The dealer had all new glow plugs and glow plug relay installed to fix the problem, but it still doesn't want to start. Yesterday, after I had driven it for a while, I parked it in the sun (it was 64 yesterday) and it still did not want to start after sitting like that for about 4 hours. Any suggestions? Also, the "Service Engine Soon" like come on when you press the go pedal, normally right before the turbo start to wind up; anyone have this problem before?

I replaced the fuel filter, removed both batteries and had them tested, replaced the air filter assembly with a K&N FIPK, and it still does not want to start. And, the "Service Engine Soon" light still comes on when you depress the accelerator right before the turbo spools up. And when you are in 5th gear and doing about 40-45 and you let off the accelerator, you can hear a thumping noise; it goes away when you depress the accelerator again. On top of all that, it is a dog until you get up to around 2K rpm and the turbo really kicks in. The cat has been removed, so it is not blocked there. Any suggestions?

I read them with my Tuner (Superchips 1705) If you don't have a tuner you'll need a code reader. Here's a starting place.
