Value would be dependant on many factors including: the year, which heads the Eng.'s are fitted with, blocks after 62 had alittle extra webbing cast into the bottom of the block between the skirts, whether it's running / free / or locked up, whether they are virgin inc. heads, whether the engine has been covered out of the weather, whether they are car or truck engines, finding a person interested since they will only bring what the market will bear and shipping adds considerably to the cost. The engine I was thinking of is the one with 10K miles on it. I believe it is out of an F-600, looks to be a '63. It runs fine from what I am told.
This is all just a shot in the dark. I would rather keep it for a spare myself, but I have a thing about stuff hangin around that I am not using. If anymore comes of this, I will holler at you about it.
At this point I am not trying to sell anything. Mod's have no reason to complain....yet.
Can anyone tell me what this would be worth? How about one with 60,000 miles on it? Both of these would be complete.
That would all depend on if they run or have sat for years and if they are original or rebuidable. Not enough is known from your description. You said it runs fine from what you were told, i would be sure it ran fine first if it were me. Probably worth the 600 dollar range, or maybe not...Janet
They both run excellent and are still running actively.
I edited my post above yours and answered you the closest i could, from there i guess it depends on who needs it and what for, but unlike you, i like to save things if i think they're that good, i would probably hang onto it....Janet
Not me, I throw away good things....seems to be the way I go, anyways. *;o)
I dislike having things around 'for future use'.
Seems like everytime i get rid of something i am sorry in the future. I have a 302 right now i rebuilt and that was way back in 1993, and got parts from Western Auto to rebuild it. Was a simple and very cheap rebuild, but the owner never came back for it. Maybe they went to jail or something. Anyway i'll bet i will end up using it up the road. Right now i am looking for a 67 or 68 cougar, and it would work great for that, although on the 67 cougar if i found one of those i would rather rebuilt it's original 289 if it has one in it. That and i am looking for a good cheap to buy 1967 Ford Ranger pickup with a long bed or a 68 Ranger, and it would be excellent for those unless they have the original engines. But the Yblocks you are talking about, would say would range starting at 600....Janet
