To Rebuild Or Not Rebuild

I have a 97 f-150 4.2L with about 190,000 miles. I did go through the head gasket leak problem at about 150,000 miles, like most others. Now shes burning a lot of oil, looks like a fogger first thing in the morning. Question is, do I rebuild, look for a short block, or dump the truck. I have very little money in the truck, I bought it from the contruction company I work for very cheap. My 17 year old son, who was using this truck, opted for a 78 f-150 4x4 short bed with a 351m, (added 9" lift & 38's) its working out very well for him, you know, more ***** and all. My 15 year old will need a truck in November so I was thinking about the 97 for him, it kept my older out of trouble. Any imput would be great!!!

Thanks...

repair the motor and let your son drive it. My 2 cents If he wrecks it no biggie And you can sell the motor for about what you paid to overhaul it.
