I need help. I need tto know what would be the better tranny out of a 3 sp manual colomn shift out of an 78 or so f-150 or a C6 with a 2000 stall convertor (rebuilt) out a 80 F-150. The tranny will be mated to a 300-330 horse cleveland(I do have the parts to do either of the tranny) I need to know this asap before my current trany dies on my thanks for any help you guys can give me.

It's my opinion that the C6 would be better for your application

 

If the truck it's going in, had an automatic, it would definitely be easier to put an auto back in.

 

The truck is going to get a totally different motor than whats in it and its getting a whole new axle to.

Hello. Need to know what tranny the truck has now. If it has a standard and u want the C-6(my choice), then u will need a steering column for the geer selector and the dash bracket for the different pedals( 2 versus 3).

 

3 on the Tree's SUCK!!!!!!
hit a bump and lose linkage.....
yeah...its a good setup

 

I do have the column out of an automatic that will fit, right now the truck has the single rail 3sp with overdrive I believe.

C-6's are pretty close to BULLET-PROOF.

If you can do it, go there.
