99.5 turbo on a 96?

Well I found a 99.5 turbo pretty cheap and was wondering what it would take to adapt it to a 96? Has anyone ever done this? i'm guessing i'll need a different pedistole and maybe intake?

the turbo is only $200 and has really low miles on it (looks brand new and spins free and the blades are in nice condition), does that sound like a pretty good deal? Is this worth trying or should I just look for a new turbo that will bolt on? I don't need it right away just figured get it for down the road when i will need it. Thanks

Bingo. A lot would need to be changed to adapt it to your truck. A much cheaper upgrade to your turbo would be to replace the stock turbine housing with one with a smaller ratio. I've installed a 1.0AR housing, and it made a noticeable difference in performance. There's still another step, the .84AR housing, but that seemed a little too extreme for me.
I had mine ceramic coated, and still only paid $160.
