four barrel intake for a 239

does anyone know if a four barrel intake from a 292 or 272 312 will fit the 239 block ? i was told the blocks are all the same just the bore is different and the intake will fit is this true ? I would like to change the 2 barrel on my f100 to a four barrel intake . also would like to find a good set of headers to fit this block

Nope, won't fit if you are talking 239 flatty - perhaps you mean 289. If so-don't know !

Just to clear things up a bit (I hope), there was a 239 flathead (L-head) through 1953. In 1954, Ford came out with the 239 OHV Y-block. It sounds like you have the OHV Y-block.

I believe that the intake manifolds are interchangeable between all the Y-blocks, 239, 256, 272, 292, and 312 - but I'd sure suggest someone who knows for sure confirms that for you.

312's got the skinny, follow the leaders.

My 55 239's got a 56 4 Bbl intake and Holley series 4000 teapot Carb for a little period hopup, Now if I can jus get the thing to run.

Keep on truckin David
