1995 Ford F150 4x4 Dual exhaust

I want to put dual exhaust on my 95 F150 4x4. It looks like the transfer case is in the way. Can dual exhaust be put on?
I want true dual exhaust, not split it out the muffler.
Thanks, David

Yes, you can put true dual exhaust on your truck. On my dual exhuast on my 1995 f-150 the two pipes run parallel to each other down the passenger side (like the original one did) and then split from each other in between the rear axel and the spare tire. They then go out and an angle towards the back. it works nice and is a good setup.

Thanks, a friend suggested that to me.
What kind of exhaust do you have? I was thinking 3" pipe with glass packs, or another kind of good muffler.
Also, what did you do about the cat? Just took it off?
Thanks, David

I wouldn't go bigger than 2 1/2" pipe on duals, I'm using 2 1/4" pipe and it works fine.

I also have 2.25 inch pipes, I just scapped the cat. I have Flowmaster 40's on mine, and they come straight out the back with 3.5 inch tips.

For my setup, i replaced the first catylatic converter (2 to 1 cat) with a y-pipe and replaced the second catalatic converter with a magnaflow converter. This summer I hope to put true duals on it but for now the exhaust flows through 1 cat and 2 ft of 2.5" pipe and then splits into dual 2.25 inch pipes with 3.5" tips. Its got a nice deep staight-pipe sound, especially with the tips, but its really loud. Its not bad in the cab under normal conditions but when you step on it you know its there.

Why not go bigger? I thought the larger the pipe, the deeper the tone. I've talked it over with Dad, and he thinks it'd be ok. He's giving me the 4" tips off his 76 F150.

well bigger isnt all ways better. with to big of pipes you lose all of your scavenging affect and then the engine will not perform as better. with bigger pipes it may resonate more but you wont perform all well

Yes, you're right. I guess I'll go with 2.5" pipe. What's a good muffler? I want a good sound, but I don't want loud.
Thanks guys,
David

I wouldn't recommend true duals, I know alot of people think its more power but try it with a manual. My truck when I first got it had true duals 2 1/4" into glasspacks I drove it before he had the true duals put on talk about a big gap in the low end true duals take away from scavaging. My new exhaust has Hedman long tube headers into 2 1/4" into a Y into a Aeroturbine muffler Y back out 2 1/2" right after the rear tires great sound little loud but still the previous owner drove it and even said it made a huge diffrence over the true duals.

Just my opinion

that aeroturbine muffler seems pretty interesting to me, is there a noticable gain over normal hiflow muffler? I want a bassani y-pipe, and was thinking of trying the aeroturbine into a single 3"
Anyone else tried the aeroturbine?

When I went to get new exhaust for my truck, the guy said that they couldn't put H-Pipes on it because of the 2 cats and some other reason. Is there a way that i could put tru dual and not have the dual of when they split at the muffler, cause that is what i currently have.
