Yes, you can put true dual exhaust on your truck. On my dual exhuast on my 1995 f-150 the two pipes run parallel to each other down the passenger side (like the original one did) and then split from each other in between the rear axel and the spare tire. They then go out and an angle towards the back. it works nice and is a good setup.

For my setup, i replaced the first catylatic converter (2 to 1 cat) with a y-pipe and replaced the second catalatic converter with a magnaflow converter. This summer I hope to put true duals on it but for now the exhaust flows through 1 cat and 2 ft of 2.5" pipe and then splits into dual 2.25 inch pipes with 3.5" tips. Its got a nice deep staight-pipe sound, especially with the tips, but its really loud. Its not bad in the cab under normal conditions but when you step on it you know its there.

I wouldn't recommend true duals, I know alot of people think its more power but try it with a manual. My truck when I first got it had true duals 2 1/4" into glasspacks I drove it before he had the true duals put on talk about a big gap in the low end true duals take away from scavaging. My new exhaust has Hedman long tube headers into 2 1/4" into a Y into a Aeroturbine muffler Y back out 2 1/2" right after the rear tires great sound little loud but still the previous owner drove it and even said it made a huge diffrence over the true duals.
Just my opinion
