"Leather" Seats Wearing out already-4 Mo's Old
I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem!?!
My "leather" seat on the drivers side is wearing out already. It is where I slide in on the outside edge of the seam. The seam also looks to be coming apart. I have not been able to get it to the dealer yet because I haven't had a day off of work. I am interested to see what the dealer says and if they will try to jack me around and not replace them.
I think that for $1k more they should at least last a couple of years!!!!

If you do a search on this you'll find several others have the same problem with their leather. I think it's unfortunate and a black eye for Ford quality. Maybe someone should do a poll to determine which models and factorys the were built to see if there is a common source for the problem.

take it in and see what they say. im interested in weather they do anything. it ****es me off when people slide off my seats. my girlfriend is about 5 foot and i dont have step bars so its hard for her to get out sometimes.
leather seats arent really as good as they used to be because so many cars are comming out with them they dont use quality leather anymore. and with the 150 if they use leather at all. my moms mercedes started chipping and peeling before a year. and in the truck i dont think its gonna last too long with the cracks that are forming around the seems its gonna fall apart once the leather dries out.

My first seat cover replacment was no problem, aside from some minor body damage. The guy that did the work was in a tight bay. He had my door open against a cinder block wall. Guess what happened as he was crawling in and out, up and down? He removed the seat and did a great job on the seat. Time to go back in....easy steady...(dang this thing is akward, maybe I should ask for help..Nah! I am a MAN). Oops I left a big funny squigly Arizona Beige scratch in the back door. I better not say anything, the owner wont notice a six inch scratch in the back door, and the missing paint on the drovers door edge.
6800 miles now. Seat cover looks like helll. I am scared to have it done again.

I had my seat replaced at around the same mileage. My dealer replaced it with a brand new leather seat cover no questions asked. My new seat is holding up well and I have put about 20K miles on my rig since having it put in. That's probably because I make sure my seats are cleaned and conditioned regularly even if its only with the Meguiers leather wipes when I'm short on time and I try to lift myself over the seat instead of sliding off it (which is a little more difficult with my 6 inch lift and 35"s) Good luck.
