Question 3" body lift. What size tires can i run? 33? 35?

i have a 1997 F-150 4.6 with automatic trans and its a step side bed. Im wondering if anyone has installed a 3"body lift and what size tires they went with. Ide like to fit 35's under it but not sure about clearence issue. Any advice? Everything else on the truck is stock.

if you have a 4x4 you can fit 35s with a 3 inch lift. You can fit 33s with no lift. The only possible issue would be rubbing on the front air dam if/when you go over serious terrain while turning the wheel all the way, but that would be minimal rubbing anyway, it wouldnt damage the air dam.

With a 4x4 you could fit 33's stock and 35's with 3 inch lift. I've got 32's on mine stock, wanted more room to flex out so didnt go with 33s. I didnt have a little rubbing on the passenger side, cut off about 1/2" off the air dam with a utility knife and it was fine. I was actually thinking about going up to 35's so be sure to post pics if you do.

Do you have the 3inch and 33's on the 95? Because if so the old body style might make the difference, not sure though.

Talking Thanks.

All your responses where helpfull and i did happen to notice the link up at the top of the 1st page after i posted.lol Anyways , I figure ide put the lift on 1st before i buy the rims and tires. I have a local guy i know who matches up rims and tires for lifts. He's been in the buisness for a while. He told me that to eliminate the ruibbing you can do so buy the backspacing of your rims.He sounded like he knew his stuff , so i will more than likely go back to him to get the tires and rims. There is an identical ford truck to mine running around where i live, only diference is his is black and mine is white.lol He has the 3" body lift with 35's. I just havent seen him in some time now, not sure if he moved away or something like that, but his truck look pretty awesome with that setup. If he can do it , why not me?lol . One way or the other i will get the tires and rims to work , even if i have to cut on stuff, it is worth it, vehicle is now paid off, so its time to live a little.lol I will keep you all posted and hopefully get pictures of the process.Ide figure they might come in handy to all who want to do the same someday.
