Who makes internal parts for the 87-88 flange hub?

I'm looking for the plastic disk/dial that turns to lock and unlock the hub. I found the only way to get that part is to buy the whole unit from ford or a junkyard, but has anyone (warn, etc...) made parts to help us 87-88 owners to rebuild those hubs?

Can't you just replace it with a "regular" manual hub?

Unfortunalely no. Ford got the wild idea to make a hub that was only installed on some 87 and 88 broncos, making the parts and the hub itself very rare. The plastic dial fell off and I went to ford to get the part and they would only sell me the whole hub unit....for $370! I had to go to the junk yard and find one for $75.

I want to rebuild the hubs internals and put a better dial on it but I cant find who makes parts for this hub. $$$$ Someone other than ford $$$$. I called Warn but they had absolutely nothing, not even a suggestion as where to look besides ford and a junk yard. There's got to be someone who knows of a compatable dial or someone who makes the internals.

I wish you luck, but I have a feeling that you could be DOA. If something was sold in a very small number to begin with 15+ years ago, chances are kinda bleak that someone makes aftermarket parts for it now. I don't know much about the 87/88 Broncos, but I think you should be able to swap from a latter Bronco the rotor and whatever other parts are needed for the installation of a regular hub. It might cost you as much or maybe a bit more than a hub initially, but afterwards you don't need to worry about those hard to find parts.

It sounds like the junkyard replacement or a swap to the older/newer setup (requiring replacing everything from the spindles out)
are your only options. It's time to visit the salvage yard!
