Tire PSI 4 BFG Rugged Trail?

My used EX came with the OEM tires. BF Goodrich Rugged Trail 265/75/16's. The recommended tire pressure for these on the sidewall is 80psi. From the dealer they had only 45 psi in them. So I bumped 'em up to 75 psi and noticed that there was less vibration with front end steering. On the downside the ride was a bit harder, more like an F250. What are most folks running (psi) in their rugged trails? I'm thinking that the dealer keeps the tire pressures low so test drives will be cushy. I'm OK with the higher pressure, may even give me better mpg. I just don't want to wear the tires out prematurely for no reason. What do ya think?

Thanks
SG

I have the same evil tires on my 2005, I run 'em at 50 front and 45 rear, seems about right. Maybe a bit much...

I LOVE those tires !
got 46k+ hard miles and look to have just as many left in them....

Now I do run mine at about 60 because i got Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks set on 1 (softest) ....

b4 the ranchos tho I had to run them at about 45 because it rode so hard on the stock shocks...

45 to 60 psi

80 psi is the max and I do like how the rig handles with the tire at 75psi, but it sounds like that may cause premature wear in the center of the tire. I'm going to compare pressures from 45 to 60 and see how it goes. Thanks SG
