There where a lot of trees down from ice in the Atlanta area. Luckily, I got one of my neighbor's trees down before it freezed outside. It was rotted in the middle about 30 feet up and surely would have split just from the ice expansion. It split taking it down, but, luckily for me I had wrapped it in chains and had rigged three cables around it as a precaution.
Dennis we were all thawed out by late Sunday afternoon, not as bad as it could have been but still lots of trees and limbs down. I am having 8 trees removed next week so the next time this happens I don't have to worry 'bout the trees landing on the house.
It was'nt as bad as last year around augusta but i did work three 18 hour days in a row cutting trees and getting power lines back up. Can't wait till pay day.Gonna buy new wheels and tires for my 78 crew cab with the overtime money.
Wasn't nowhere near as bad, my electricity didn't even flicker this time. Last yr, it was out for 1.5 days.
