I've got an XLT 4x4 and it has Hankooks. I kind of like them, I don't see severe mud but then again wind, rain, snow and mud doesn't stop me from chasing quail and if the truck has to go through it then it has to go through it. They ride nice and seem to handle as well as any tire I've ever had on a truck. My next tires will be light truck tires with thicker ply's and a but more aggressive tread instead of a passenger rated tire with an all terrain tire that is all terrain meaning pavement, gravel, dirt (not mud), grass and concrete.

Has anyone seen xlt or lariat trucks from the factory equipped with the hancook tires?
But maybe Ford scored a great deal from a vendor who wanted to sell tires to new car manufacturers and who agreed to provide decent tires at a low price just to gain a foothold in the market. My experience is otherwise meaning that for instance General tires that were on low end trim vehicles that i have purchased ( whether chebby or ford) dont last past 25 to 30k miles.
Ford quit buying Firestone tires and so probably they had few choices other than trying new a new vendor(s).

My F150 came with General tires. 255/70R16. Absolute garbage from new. Rotated at 5,000 and 10,000 miles. The tires were so worn at 15,000 miles they slid all over the road in the rain. I replaced them with Michelins.
General shouldn't be in the tire business and Ford should be ashamed for putting such a poor tire on a fine truck like the F150.

I have the Hankook's on my 04 XLT SuperCab. 15,000 miles and smooth as silk, and still look like new. I bought an 04 Ranger, Christmas week for my oldest son. It has BF Goodrich's and after finally getting to drive it some (He went back in the Army and the truck had time to cool down) I had to replace two tires this past week. I work at a Lincoln Dealer. One tire had 48 pounds of roadforce when balanced and the other had 29 pounds. Neither would come into specs after breaking the tires down and indexing to the rims. Most of the complaints I have seen about tires on the 04 F150's have been the BF Goodrich's. I havent seen any complaints about the Hankooks.
I give the Hankooks an A+
