Maybe there will be a massive recall and they will replace all of our 6.0s.Chances of that are slim to none.LOL First they make em big,and then they make em small, and then they start to make em big again. To many bean counters and to many engineers will eventually spoil the broth.

I have heard this rumour also, my dealer told me this ,that the new body styled truck would recieve this new motor it is supposed to have twin turbos 425horsepower and 750 ft lb of torque. If that is the case they had better do alot of upgrading because I dont belive the current truck is capable of handling that much power and torque and living for 250000 miles like ford claimes

Well, the 7.3 is still made by in'tl, but they put the 6.0 in there. The reason behind it IMHO is that with all the wars about power, people want to hear how the 6.0 has so much more torque and such, but, the general uneducated public doesnt know that the 7.3 makes it much lower(I think lol). I personally would rather have a 7.3 because it doesnt need to be revved as high, but then again, I could be biased

Interesting to know where rumors come from. The 7.3L were replaced and 6.0L is going to be replaced in the 07 models.
Why? Emission standards.
Yes the 7.3L were good engines but could not meet emission standards so the 6.0L came to be. In 2007 the standards change again, not because the 6.0L is a problematic engine but because of your friendly government and emissions.
As a former 7.3L owner I qualify to state the 6.0L is one awesome engine. When the 07 models come out I will be patiently waiting in line for a new truck.
Big Government is watching you… ..Who knows what is coming in the future…..

I figure (and hope) that with the less than perfect 6.0 launch that the next generation engine will be better. I'm sure there will be a few problems and probably even a few year to year improvements; but, the initial introduction should be better if Ford has learned something from the 6.0 launch.
I'm happy with my 6.0 PSD; biggest disappointment is the fuel economy and this is partially because my expectations were high based on Ford's promises relative to the 7.3 in their marketing.....

Interesting to know where rumors come from.
They need to keep this motor for a number of years.

You are right in the fact that the reason that the 6.0 liter replaced the 7.3 due to emissions! Ford had to do it or they wouldn't be able to sell enough diesels for the demand that they had. I also agree in the fact that the 6.0 is an awesome engine. Does it have some problems? Yes, what doesn't? Look at the 1/2 tons right now. But is that the reason they will eventually replace the 6.0???? NO! The few problems that they do have are not enough to dump the motor. How many times will we have to hear this rumor? It's all about supply and demand and keeping big brother happy! Has nothing to do with the small percentage of problematic motors that sold out of how many hundreds of thousands sold without any mishaps. Look at what happened to the first 7.3's that came out and look at what they (Ford ) ended up with.
I'm sure eventually we will be having this same argument about the 6.0's and the motor that replaced them......
