Hello looking for some help with suggestions on a trustworthy shop to do some performance upgrades for my 79 F350 Camper Special with 460.

The truck is low miles 48K drives well but, drives like it has about the 195hp it left the factory with. I reviewed a lot of the info in the 460 forum and from what I can gather, without opening up the motor; some carb and intake work along with exhaust work is the best beat to increase performance. As the truck is the camper special it has the dual saddle tanks, so a true dual exhaust is a bit tricky. Would I gain much with headers and a single exhaust?

Real question looking for suggestions for a shop to supply the parts and do the install work. I am in the ffice:smarttags" /><?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comTwin City area.
I have 2 neighbors do all my work. Both are very good, and is about the only ones that I trust to work on my trucks.
One works at his in-laws shop in Scandia. Between him and his father-in-law the probably isn't anything they can't work on. If you are not in a rush the neighbor would probably do it on the side for cheaper than the shop could do it.
The other is a heavy duty mechanic in the cities and does all his own work (you should see the 75 vette he redid).
The only other place I take my truck is in Askov (long drive but I know the owner)
PM me if you are interested and I can get you in touch with them.

Just out of curiousity, where are you located? Your location isn't listed, other than Minnesota...

Hand me that hammer, I think I can make it fit.
If Derby Four Wheel Drive in Sauk Rapids is still open, he knows 460's. I think his name is John. He did my heads and intake. I did my own carb and worked with a great mechanic in Brainerd on the short block. I also got my tri-Y's and aftermarket rad from Derby, as per John's recomendations.
