4.0L Hard Start Below 45 Degrees

1990 Ranger, 150K miles. When outside air temp is below about 45 degrees, it won't start unless I hold pedal to the floor. After it starts, it runs fine. After I drive it, it starts normally. It will start normally all day after initial hard start. Once air temp hits about 45-50 degrees, start is normal, like it has for past 8 years. Only thing that was done to the vehicle recently, was new plugs (Bosch Platinum) during the summer. Any ideas?

Dirty IAC?
Have you checked fuel pressure before starting the first time?

Try throwing in a set of motorcraft plugs. I used the Bosch platinums in my F150 for years and had to do alot of cranking, warm or cold. Put in plain motorcraft plugs and it starts and idles alot gooder.
